There is a lot to unpack here. First off, shockingly, this is the chapter where I finally realized Mok is actually the main character. I genuinely didn’t know until now. I originally dropped the manhwa because I couldn’t stand all of his flaws and whining, and I didn’t like Chae Sunhwa either. The only character worth my time and the only reason I kept checking back was my curiosity about Nanjo.
So what did I know?
Nanjo likes sex with Mok, nothing new.
Nanjo dislikes Mok’s selfishness, abuse, lying, and all his flaws, also nothing new.
Nanjo was never jealous of Mok’s relationship with Sunhwa, not once. He was only protecting Sunhwa from further abuse.
Nanjo hated the way Mok manipulated him and especially disliked Mok showing up at his workplace.
Nanjo always looked at him with disinterest because he didn’t like his personality.
He never texted him or reached out to him at all.
So what did I learn in the Season 1 finale other than “Holy shit, Mok is the main character.”
The important part is that Mok was happy when he realized that he is the one who turns Nanjo on. That was the first real step toward Mok actually changing. This moment is the start of Mok taking a real shot at becoming someone who could have a relationship with Nanjo, because so far, this has not been a romantic story at all.
